I’m sure you’re aware that our Governor announced sweeping changes in order to stem the further outbreak of COVID-19. While this announcement doesn’t effect churches directly, the leadership of CLA wants to do our best to make sure that everyone remains safe and healthy. That being the case, we’ve decided to postpone our in-person gatherings for another few weeks. I know this is disappointing for you and for us, but we feel like waiting a few more weeks to meet is a wiser option than putting people at unnecessary risk.
We’re sorry if this has caused you any inconvenience and we look forward to meeting again in person. Our online gatherings will continue at 10am every Sunday. See you online!!
Welcome To Our 10am Online Service.
Hi CLA! I wanted to take a minute to pass on some important information to you today. Last night I met with our Deacons and Trustees, and we decided that based on the recommendations of the CDC for gatherings of 50 or more people be postponed or cancelled, and as well as President Trump's call for us to avoid groups of 10 or more, that it would be prudent for us to immediately suspend all of our public gatherings indefinitely. This includes all of our Sunday and sixthreeO gatherings as well as all our Rooted Youth Ministry, Kid's Life Live, and Kid's Club gatherings.
Pastor Misty made a post about what this means for Life Groups, so make sure you read her post as well.
The CLA Staff met yesterday to strategize a plan to move forward with ministry entirely online. Let me give you the big picture of what that is, and we'll fill in the details in posts and videos that will follow.
- We will go live with a CLA gathering every Sunday morning at 10 am. You can participate in that gathering by going to our website at www.clatehachapi.com/livestream or on our CLA Tehachapi Youtube channel.
- Gather your family together and worship with us. If it's safe and you feel comfortable with it, maybe worship together as a Life Group or with a neighbor
- We encourage you to participate by commenting in the chat. We will on there to pray with you, and celebrate what God is doing in your life during this unprecedented time.
- Make sure you take pictures of your family worshipping with us and tag us on instagram @clatehachapi. You can also post them here.
Galatians 6:2 instructs us to "carry each other's burdens". In that spirit, let's make sure we check on our neighbors, our seniors. If you can meet their need, be the church and meet it. If that is not possible then make sure you email us at email@example.com and we'll do our best to bring the needed help.
As a church family we don't see this as a time to rest but as an opportunity for the mission of introducing people to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ to be pushed forward. We're not resting we're engaging.
During this time we've been called to continue to live generous lives. The mission moves forward when God's people live generously. You can give back to God through CLA online at CLATehachapi.com/giving. We're also leading the way in bringing tangible help to those in our community that need help. If you'd like to give to help people in our community that are in need during this difficult time you can do that by selecting "compassion" in the drop down menu. Every penny of that money given goes straight into our community to help.
Lastly, we're called to pray, for our world, our nation, and our neighbor. We're called to be people that live and speak peace. People who live and speak hope. And people who live and speak love.
